Play: Sankara: The Rise and Fall of an African Hero

The life and death of African hero Thomas Sankara, President of Burkina Faso (1983 -1987) takes centre stage at the Cockpit Theatre in London in a play written and directed by Ricky Dujany.

Thomas Sankara was the first African leader to favour women’s rights and among the first ones to appoint women in important positions in the Cabinet, like the Minister of Budget. Without the liberation of women, for President Sankara, the Revolution was unthinkable.
